Rumor has it that men are safer and more reliable drivers than their female counterparts and the insurance company disagrees to such misconception. Their business believes is to increase their profit and reduce their risk. They have measure almost every metric that you can think of, just to acknowledge that women are better drivers than the men in today’s world.
With the use of demographic data (e.g. age of those drivers involved in the accidents and gender) as part of their formula, the insurance company has historically calculated policy rate. This means that the demographic group with high level of accidents will have the bigger insurance rate. With this calculation, women have proven to be safer drivers than the men.
Recently, Carnegie- Mellon study finalized that the men are likely to be involved twice in traffic accidents than the women. The insurance industry has revealed that 64%of men have never received a traffic violation while 68% of women have no traffic violation. Also it was discovered by the study that 10% of the men are more likely to have received multiple citations than the women.
Several policy providers have acknowledged these differences between men and women by specifically insuring female drivers and ensuring that women pay lesser rate than the men. Special individual companies have been set up by these insurance industries to provide and under write car insurance for the women.
Getting a free online quote from any insurance provider will help you know how to fare in comparison to different types of drivers. Definitely, you will find out that car insurance for women is usually cheaper than that of the men which happens to be the same policy.
The general perception that women are worse drivers than men is not factual because the insurance industry uses more than gender to ascertain your rate.

Four Controversial Showtime Series on Satellite TV By Carina Brantley
One of the great television trends of the last decade is the arrival of so many award-winning series on premium cable networks. Starting with the Sopranos on HBO and the many that followed in the show's prize-grabbing footsteps, cable television is the place where top-notch actors star in original series. Right now, satellite TV viewers with the Showtime HD package can view these shows on a weekly basis. Here is a rundown of four of the most controversial series.
Californication
Sharing a name with a Red Hot Chili Peppers song (lawsuit still pending, though apparently futile), this show could be subtitled "Misanthropic Writer Behaving Badly." David Duchovny of X-Files fame stars as a promising New York author who moves to Hollywood and watches his life go from bad to worse. Trying to reconcile his inner torment and dislike of Los Angeles with a desire to reunite with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his teenage daughter, writer Hank Moody is a troubled soul. The show follows his many trysts as Moody bottoms in a sea of alcoholism and sex addiction. Would Charles Bukowski be proud? Perhaps, but scenes from Barfly don't look as good as Californication's HD production.
Penn & Teller Bulls**t
From the bad boys of comedy, this show revolves around Penn & Teller's exposing new trends and lies swirling about in the modern world. Episodes have focused on the bottled water industry and the exaggerated ills of second-hand smoke. While the tobacco industry may have supported such a bold statement, the so-called "evil duo" have lately been proven wrong on the second-hand smoke issue and recanted. Nonetheless, their quest for truth did focus on available materials at the time and treated the subject straightforwardly. As for the bottled water episode, they went out of their way to humiliate customers at an elegant California restaurant, when they filled a bottle from a hose out back before selling it for $7. Point taken.
Weeds
Another highly celebrated show on the Showtime HD lineup. Weeds is the story of what happens when a California mother is widowed and has to look for a way to support the family...which turns out to be selling marijuana. Originally a desperate move, the woman (played by Mary-Louise Parker) becomes more enterprising as business picks up and she finds herself dependent on this dangerous profession. Ranging from sardonic to frightening in tone, Weeds has attracted a big cult following and Parker has won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of the lead character.
The L Word
Recently concluding its very popular six-season run on Showtime, The L Word was a sensation in the gay and lesbian community. Focusing on the lives of a somewhat wild sector of the gay population in West Hollywood, The L Word was supposedly based on a famous New York hair stylist and her life upon moving west. The show took on a lot of taboos in American television (such as bisexuality and transgender issues), earning a lot of respect for the network in the process. Though the show is out of its production phase, satellite TV subscribers can check out episodes using the On-Demand feature.

3 Main Advantages of Buying Movie DVDs Online By Simon Therrien Migneault
Some of the main benefits that you get by buying movie DVDs online:
1. Convenience: The best part about ordering your DVDs online is that you get to shop for your favorite movies from the comfort of your own home. Going to shop for a movie DVD in a regular store involves getting all dressed up, driving to and fro in traffic, and getting through numerous stores and long check out queues simply for buying the latest flick. On the other hand, buying online does not involve any such hassles and is fast, cost effective and convenient. And of course, the DVD arrives on your doorstep.
2. Variety: Call it Murphy's Law if you will, but you will often find that the only title not available in a DVD store that you have traveled to after a great hassle is the movie that you want. If the store staff is friendly, it will offer to order the title for you; but then that generally takes days! On the other hand, since online DVD stores do not have to stock their inventory in costly high street shops, they can afford to keep each and every title on hand. So your chances of getting the classic, action, comedy, romance, horror or kids title that you want are generally higher in an online store. And if you don't find it on one, popping over to the next store takes just a couple of seconds!
3. Economy: Most online stores will offer you the movie DVD titles you are looking for at a lesser price than your regular brick and mortar store. This is because online DVD stores do not have a lot of expenses that real stores do. They save on many taxes, labor costs and employee salaries and rental etcetera. These savings are generally passed off to the customer in the form of lower prices. So you can buy all the titles that you want, new movies and classics, horror and sci fi, kids and adventure, romance and comedy titles at discounted rates from online DVD stores. The monetary savings are definitely the best part about buying movie DVDs online.
